Logistics One began in 1994 in a rented building in Scotia, New York, receiving overflow goods from the Port of Albany. Within a few months, we began constructing our first 90,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Saratoga Springs, New York, where we are still headquartered today.
A year later, we opened a second 125,000 sq. ft. building in Saratoga Springs to meet increasing demand. In 2003, we purchased a 160,000 sq. ft. complex adjacent to our headquarters in Saratoga Springs.
When we first started in warehousing, we determined that trucking was a necessary supplemental service to offer our customers. We leased three tractors and purchased a handful of trailers to provide shuttle services between our customers' facilities and our warehouse. Soon after, our customers began asking us to deliver goods to their customers. As these deliveries moved farther away from our home base, we realized this was the beginning of a trucking company.
As a natural evolution of our company, freight integrated logistics became part of our daily operations in 1995. Complementing our trucking services, our integrated logistics division expanded our freight hauling capacity and completed the Logistics One package by providing customers with a comprehensive suite of transportation and logistics services.
In 2023, Logistics One marked another significant milestone with its expansion into the Midwest, opening a new office in Overland Park, Kansas. This strategic expansion strengthened our nationwide freight brokerage operations, broadened our geographic reach, and enhanced our ability to serve customers throughout the United States and Canada. With established operations in both the Northeast and Midwest, Logistics One continues to combine regional expertise with nationwide transportation capacity.
Today, Logistics One operates 725,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space, leases 255,000 sq. ft. to third-party tenants, and coordinates truckload freight movements across North America. From our beginnings as a small warehousing operation in upstate New York to a comprehensive logistics provider with a nationwide reach, our commitment to reliable service, strong customer relationships, and continued growth remains at the heart of everything we do.
